Default Literacy Instruction (Excelsior test)

Has anyone taken this? How hard is it? Can you suggest any prep materials?

I called excelsior, and they told me I should get each of the 5 or 6 recommended textbooks and read them all. I can't imagine one has to actually do this to pass the test.

Thanks for any insights!

Hi I too want to take that exam. What materials are you planning to use for it?
Hope someone on this forum has taken it so we can get some feedback.
I tried looking on the excelsior forums but this exam has not been discussed at all over there.

Assuming this is the $260.00 open book exam required by Excelsior, it's a very easy exam. Print out all the materials. Read and highlight pertinent information. Set up a book separated with tabs. If you understand the material and where to find the answers, you'll have no problem. I got a 98/100.

That's why I said assuming and my assumption was wrong. Sorry about that.

Have you already taken Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Here's to your Health or Intro. to Computers? There's a wealth of posts on those courses. I've taken Drugs and Health and thought they were very straightforward.

I think the Lit Instruction class may be quite hard. I know I've seen some posts where people have failed it. Does Excelsior offer a guided learning program?
