    Default GRE psych

For those of you who have done the GRE psych, which of the study guides did you find the most helpful? I have other study aids, but I want to get one of the official guides esp. for the practice tests.

I am using both Princeton and Kaplan to study. I have not taken this exam yet but I hear Kaplan is a better guide. As far as I can see, Kaplan covers more information. I won't know for sure till I take the test!

When are you taking the test, November or December? I am hoping to be ready enough by Oct 27 to register for December, but don't feel prepared enough yet. The next chance won't be until April though, and I would like to be done sooner.

I took the GRE Psychology in April and I'd recommend the Kaplan book, with the Princeton one as a supplement. Another book you might find helpful is REA's Problem Solvers Psychology. I had expected to pass this test by doing the rote memorization thing, but found I really should have spent more time looking at the concepts underlying the theories. Evidently the GRE changed a year or so ago to focus more on these, and in my opinion, the study guides don't reflect this at all. I ended up doing okay, but not as well as I'd hoped.

I have the Princeton Review "Cracking the GRE Psychology" with the entire book converted to flash cards. It took me about 3 weeks to re-write the entire book to flashcards.
