So you pay a monthly fee to Netflix, and then you can order the various Standard Deviant videos for rental from them? How cool is that?

Anar gave me the idea, so I decided to go that route with NetFlix.
I figure if I find the video truely useful, I can then decide to buy it after viewing it. The Algebra dvd's are mine.. I am glad I read the forums to get the ideas.. LOL ![]()

We are about the same in how long ago we took Algebra. I had TERRIBLE grades in it back then.. not because I did not understand.. but because I had a terrible teacher who went out of his way to make you feel stupid if you ask a question.
Level I disc is 2005 and II is 1996/2004. I have not wach them completely but from what I saw.. it will give a better foundation and supplement the texts that I have been studying

Oh thank you for the reply kitanis, I appreciate your insight to this knowledge of 'fun videos'...great way to relearn something that I have forget ALOT about!
KITANIS: I know what you mean about teachers/professors making you look stupid. I took Basic Algrebra, the fall after high school, but I could have taken College Algrebra. The reason I opted not to is because I wanted to me in the same college class that my friend was in, and she had NO knowledge of Algrebra. Anyway enrolled in the course (paid the what seem then [as a poor young person] a gazillion dollars, started the class. First off no textbooks available, we were awaiting a shipment. So we both looked over the shoulder of another's student's textbook. In the mean time (awaiting that darn book!) the professor would scribble ALL over my papers that I turn in. He acted like I did not know basic algrebra. I did remember the 'basic' part, and the work was there...but NO!!! Anyway, drop(withdrew) from the class [getting a percent of my tuition back.] Looking back now I wish I would have taken College Algrebra and got it over with. But how was I to know that 20 years later that I would actually be serious enough to pursue a degree. And needing to relearn something that I forgot. You know the old saying- Use It or Lose It! How true. LOLLast edited by X #911 : 08-09-2006 at 07:09 AM. |

Have any of you used the Standard Deviants Statistics? I have just ordered the first and second one, I wonder if that's enough or if I should look to get the third one as well. I am no math genius but need to do statistics for my major. Were the videos helpful to you?
