The thought of kicking back after work this winter, and not feeling guilty about needing to study for tests or other classes...although I think I'm going to miss the instant gratification of CLEPS!
More $ Showing those who doubted that I could. Remembering folks like these: http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,10033,00.html http://goforward.harpercollege.edu/p...e=545&ref=list or for that matter these...when I start to get down on myself. It helps me remember that getting my degree does not define me or my talents, it's just relative to job and other college opportunities. http://realitytv.about.com/od/theapp.../nodegrees.htm So many others, including so many on this board. What keeps you going? CT

Good post Mary! And thanks for sharing those links - they were good to read! What keeps ME going is knowing the intense feeling of satisfaction and pride I will feel about FINALLY completing a degree I first started working on over 20 years ago! And also the fact that my employer should be giving me a decent raise once I actually have my degree. Keep going everyone!!

Right now, only 4 tests in, I'm perhaps a bit over-motivated so I haven't hit a slump where I will need an extra push yet. When that time comes though, I think that the simple joy of learning that I've always had along with an insatiable curiousity will carry me through. I've always been studying something. The exciting, stupendous, thrilling, extremely pleasurable difference now is having discovered that I can get college credit for doing what I do anyway. The only thing I am doing differently is developing and following an actual plan with an objective in order to satisfy degree requirements. I am also excited about being able to help so many others once I get through. Ahhhhh, life is good.
Loved the links. Thanks for sharing them. Librevore

What keeps me going (right now) is that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (and it isn't Jersey) but my degree at last!! I should (knock on wood) have my math class completed by mid/late August and then I'll be done!! So just to pass it on - "What keeps you going?"

Every exam I pass, and every new credit I earn encourages me to keep going.
One of the reasons I took so many exams in the first few weeks of my degree plan, was to make sure I had "too much invested" to back out. I took three exams on my very first day of testing, and within two months I had 43 credits under my belt. By then, I knew that I would see this through to the end. I had invested too much money, and too much time and effort, to give up at that point. At this stage, it is not so much the thought of 'how far I have come' that keeps me going, but how close I am to the end. The end is within reach, and every passed exam takes me one step closer to my goal. Passing it on....what keeps YOU going?
