Default VOTE: Recommendation of which clep test should you take first?

Granted each one of us is knowledge in different areas.
But which one of the following...do you recommend taking first.

Vote for the one subject that you think a 'newbie' should test out on to get "their feet wet with" doing a clep test.
In order words, if some one had NO knowledge what so ever in these choices.
What is your opinon of the easiest test you took.
And what specific study guide did you use for that test. (list your score if you like)

Hope I am making my polling thread/request clear.

Please also post the order of your other recommendations.

Voting ends in 47 days. (Wanted to make it a weird/odd number and brief.) LOL

Thank you in advance for all that vote (help me make a decision on what to study first--I appreciate it greatly.)

This may just be my particular background and leanings -(Music/Humanities.Education), but Freshman Comp, A & L lit, Human Growth were all good starting places for me. I would have taken intro to Psych and Soc and Computer apps if I didn't already have those as traditional credits.

Other people with backgrounds in business seem to find the business CLEPS very doable, such as Principles of Marketing. Principles of Management.

Good luck

CLEP Intro to Sociology gets my vote. After taking 28 exams, it is still hands-down the easiest I have encountered.

You still have to know the material covered, but it an extremely straightforward exam, both to study for, and to pass. In addition, there are plenty of excellent resources to study from.

I wouldn't think twice about advising someone tot ake this exam first. It's a great way to 'get your feet wet'.

Hi,

I recommend taking the General CLEP exams first.

Humanities
Natural Sciences
Social Science/History

There are study guides that cover all three of these exams (including college math and English). I used the COMEX, Princeton's Cracking the CLEP, and the REA Best Test Prep for the CLEP, guides. It was probably overkill in study material, but these exams provide a solid foundation in general knowledge. Also, they are 6 credits each.

Default My Vote is for Intro to Psychology

The Psych exam was my first CLEP - I took it about 5 weeks ago. After that I went on to take Sociology, which was suprisingly just a glorified extension of the Psych exam. I used instantcert (obviously) and REA books with the CDs. I like the ones with the CDs cuz they score the tests for you.

I've also taken US History I - not bad if you study diligently
Human Growth & Development - this was a tougher test than expected. It has overlaps to psych as well, but my exam was tricky!

Scores so far have been:

Psych 73
Soc 75
Hist 69 (supplemented w/ a high school text book & sparknotes flashcards)
HG&D 67

So the bottom line here is that I suggest studying Psychology really well, and that will give you a great base knowledge for your Sociology and Human Growth Exams.

Good Luck!
