At least your ESO actually does something, the educational service officer on my ship and the one on my base, do NOTHING, they are very unhelpful. unless you want to go to ST Leos and you dont because you want to test out of the majority and get a big 3 degree. They give you a pamphlet if your lucky and the pamphlet is from 2000 so it is all outdated and was xeroxed like 100 times so you can barley read it. I got more information off of this site, degreeinfo, bain4weeks and 123collegedegree than 50 times what they have to offer at the ESO. When i went to langley AFB to test, I said very little to anyone and they asked me if I had a degree plan and then they gave me a sucker and 3 big bakery cookies to eat while I took the exams. That was awesome. On the 5 navy bases I have taken tests at all I got was a lousy glare on my computer screen, dull pencils and uncomfortable chairs. The (ch)air force had awesome chairs for some reason...

    Default You Got that right!!

I am actually a Air Force Reserve dude on active duty for training , and I am training myself to get my BA in CJ at either TESC or EC and maybe COSC, I paid the enrollments on all 3 with my money, not the air force.

I am taking as many exams as possible while I am activated for 4 months.

The Lady Contractor in the Ed office is getting very irritated with me and my Clep marathon, 2-4 tests a week , regardless if I need them or not, Just to piss her off. Hey , I am military and it is FREE, and Encouraged by the "Brass" to Educate your mind! Plus I need only to finish My AMU MATH125 Class to get my CCAF in BIO/ENVIRO MGMT and TransMgmt,

I took speech at BYU Online and completed it in 4 weeks with an A, VERY AWESOME SCHOOL AND INSTRUCTOR!! AMU SUCKS @$$! NOT RECCO MENDED!

I've had the same experience with some people at my testing center on Fort Huachuca (army). You just have to tell yourself that they get paid to do this and drive on. I did 45 credits in 30 days and the education counselor kept asking me, "how many credits will your college accept?" "aren't you maxed out?".

    Default Sweet

They do not own the cleps/dantes test or pay foe them, they just administer them, Next time I will tell them the Inspector General said I was legal, but wants to know why they are discriminating against me for getting my education!

I was on a first name basis with my proctor, I told him my plan and oddly enough he was an excelsior grad as well so he was all for it, if I did come one week he would be worried about me. It was pretty cool, but he never gave me cookies like the airforce guy did....

    Default Intriguing?

My proctor is a guy who looks like Mr.Hand with a beard, very professional and no sense of humor.

He is always telling me, "I see we are back again" " You know the drill" No cookies, which bite but the chairs are a nice comfy airforce blue! And No out of Pocket FEES!

I did find out, that they do not carry all the DSST test and I may have to pay a service center in LA or Bakersfield if I am not allowed to order American Government.
