Any one who has taken Macroeconomics, will you please tell me if studying IC flash cards is enough to pass the test. I don’t have any knowledge in economics courses but need to pass it within 10 days.
Thanks Ray Last edited by mrezas : 06-03-2006 at 06:02 AM. |

I passed the clep Macroeconomics with a 76 about 2 1/2 weeks ago. To be honest, I would not just rely on the instantcert flash cards. They are very helpful, but you really should look for some reading material that can give you more of an overview.
First off, use this resource: http://ingrimayne.com/econ/TOC.html It's well written and has quizes to help make sure you understand the reading material. I used it for macro and micro. If you don't have an Economics text book, this is the next best thing. Make sure you read the four basic economics sections at the top as well as all the macroeconomic subjects. If you understand everything from this link you will be well on your way to doing well on the clep test. Then you should watch these videos up to #14. They are pretty enjoyable to watch and give a nice broad overview of economics. http://www.learner.org/resources/ser...54842&pid=338# Next, I would try the practice tests here: http://college.hmco.com/economics/bo...ace/index.html I also highly recommend the Peterson practice tests as well. Good luck! |

Also, www.half.com is another good source for used study guides, books, videos etc. I have found several great deals there.

Hey Ray, I'm not an economically-minded person, but I was able to pass both macro and micro using just IC. One week study for each. I certainly don't want to recommend you do it, if you just don't feel comfortable, but in my opinion, IC will give you enough to pass. (I got a 61 on macro and a 60 on micro - both A's for EC.)

Hmmm...don't know if I'd recommend using just IC for either macro or micro. I just missed passing the micro by 2 points and although IC is a nice supplement, it is not nearly enough to pass the micro in my opinion. |
