Multi Degrees on resume?

I was just curious, since we have the ability and knowledge of how to get multiple degrees easily, do you think its a good idea to be selective of how many degrees you put on a resume?

I personally want 3 different degrees, so people dont raise eyebrows do you think its wise to put only relevant data on resume?

Sometimes having multiple degrees can help you negotiate for a higher salary or show them you have knowledge helpful to the job that you are not aware is related. I would always put your degrees on a resume, just don't list the years. A lot of people double major and then have a graduate degree so 3 wouldn't seem unusual to see. Now if you had 10...

I dunno - this conversation has merit for both sides... I think I would prefer to show the most applicable degree only, and then get very detailed in the experience section. Degrees are really just door-openers, aren't they? At least in my field (high level sales), multiple degrees are not only unnecessary, but it could get your resume tossed in the trash because they care more about experience than education (although without a degree, they wouldnt even look at your resume).

I also don't think that most people understand the feasibility of compressing timeframes in education. We all "get it" in this forum because we have made it our business to understand it... it touches home for all of us. But the average person, IMHO, doesn't reaize that credits can be applied to multiple degrees, you can test out of so many classes, you can (in some cases) work on a masters at the same time as a bachelor, etc. Showing a lot of degrees could look like you have spent your whole life in classes. Then if you show real work experience... well, you could look like a liar. While it may all be 100% accurate, if you appear to be a liar on paper, you will likely never get the interview to defend yourself.

I agree that it would depend on what feild you were in and what kind of job you were applying for. If it is sales where they want to see your real world results of producing and only care that you have a degree and don't even care what it is in, then yes only put the most relivant or inpressive one. If they see you have a ton of education they just might wonder if you are spending more time studying than you are out there in the field selling stuff and you never want that.
If it is teaching, corporate training, the scientific industry, or in some cases government work you just might want to put everything on there because they often consider people with more education more valuable and they pay to reflect that. Having a Masters or PhD will put you in a higher pay range unlike positions where your pay is based on meeting sales goals and projected numbers.
I guess the best advice would be: Know your audience. Have different versions of your resume for different situations and apply accordingly. I personally have 3 different versions that I use depending on what I am applying for.

If your degrees are all within the same discipline or field study why bother, however if they are in varied fields they show diversified strengths so list them all.

No one always likes the smartest kid in the class but they will hire them if it will give them a competitive edge.

You say there are programs with the ability to take Masters Classes while still taking undergrad classes. Who has these programs?
