Default How good are spark notes?

I have been using spark notes lately and actually really like them, they go over the material strongly and the way they present it works great. Starting with a context of a period, then going over key figures and words, then a summary. Once that is done they into detail on the main areas of concern. Even over study questions and quizes.

I was just wondernig how others felt about sparknotes? I'm using sparknotes for History 1, not exactly sure which areas to focus on but seems to be working pretty good.

I used sparknotes for Rise and Fall of Soviet Union and Civil War and Reconstruction. I think they were a must have, to be honest. I wouldn't depend just on them, but as a secondary source it's a life saver.

I used it for American History I but it was overkill; much more detail than really necessary. I did find some timelines that were really good though.

I really like SparkNotes. Not usually enough to pass an exam by themselves but very helpful as a supplement. I especially like the fact that they have review tests.

I did a lot of studying for the Biology CLEP with SparkNotes and it was extremely helpful.

I used "The Russian Revolution". The version of the test that I had had a lot question from the Revolution. It provides a great foundation and is an easy read.

Sparknotes are great for US Government.

Have tried them with varying degrees of success on other exams, like Astronomy.
