I've always thought of myself as pretty good in English, but the Freshman Comp CLEP has me second guessing that. I have an IT Mgmt background, so have done lots of writing. I can't find any Freshman Comp practice tests online. I have taken two of the 3 Peterson's tests for English Comp, and have failed miserably - I am scoring in the high 50's/low 60's.
Yet, when I took the practice exam in the CLEP Success book, I scored in the 90s. Is there really that much difference between the two tests? I don't have to write an essay - just pass the test. Please help!

IMO the Peterson's are much harder than the real test. I passed this test very easily with plenty of extra time. Most of the test is made up of very basic grammar questions such as subject/verb agreement, and other common sense type stuff. I am sure you will do fine, on this one, especially sense you are scoring in the 90's on the official practice tests. Knock this one out, and walk out of the test room proud with six more credits under your belt!
