I was kind of curious about this. Lets say you took CLEP/DSST's exams of all general subjects. When TESC/EC transfer your credit to there catalog... what if you transferred out? What would you transcript look like, would it be something along the lines of Math 1101 and the like? I was curious about this in the event i wanted to transfer back to a local university after completing general core classes.

I thought the same as you. Anyone have any insight on this? Maybe someone here has done this? Or has a copy of there official transcripts and knows. |

Here's part of my "degree audit" (I just copied and pasted). I guess most of the titles from the CLEP tests ARE on there -- but -- as you can see-- it doesn't mention that they came from CLEP/DSST.
(since I haven't graduated, I don't have my official transcripts...sooo.. I can't be sure that the final copy won't have CLEP/DSST on it. However - I don't think it will) Business Electives (9sh) Semester Hours Completed: 9.00 Src Course # Title S.H. Grd TESC # Notes 1.. MAN-201... Principles of Supervision 3.00 CR MAN-201 *NE 1.. I am definetly starting to lean towards TESC.
This might be useful for some of you trying to make a decision: Ive gone to all kinds of Georgia universities websites and checked transfer credit coming from TESC/Excelsior, and ALL of them transfer full credits for classes at TESC and not one from Excelsior. Interesting I thought. |

I have the same type of evaluation as you do, but don't leave out the bottom of the evaluation where it says "NE= Non-course equivalency" which means "test out" and the other clue is under Grd (grade) it says "CR" which means "credit" you'll see letters there if you take a class. I don't know what will be on the final transcript- maybe a graduate here will share!!?? To the OP- if you transfer your credit to another college, they will have their own CLEP policy, and that is how your credits will come in. Always follow the policy of your ending institution. Simply logging them at TESC won't mean that they will work somewhere else, they are still CLEP.

^^ True.
I guess we need to ask the question: what does it matter?? I know people who have gotten into Graduate school with a degree from TE. As for employers, do they usually look at transcripts, or, do they just look at the accredited degree? I'm going to ask a friend who's graduated from TE what her final transcipt looked like and get back with you guys! |

Okay, here's what she said: (it's the same as TE's degree audit)
""Here's what mine say... CLEP EXAMPLE: HUM-102 Humanities 2 3.0 CR HUM-102 *NE DANTES EXAMPLE: HIS-309 Intro to Mod. Middle East 3.0 CR HIS-309 *NE So if you TEST OUT of something it will have *NE, if you TRANSFER it will have *TE. Hope that helps some!""" |
