Well, here's that nasty, "what calculator is permissible" question again. My testing center says I may not bring in my own calculator. They state that if one is needed, they will provide it. The ones they provide are the most basic, into level you have ever seen. Maybe I need to go there in advance of the test and make my case for using the BAII, like I had to in order to obtain the financial tables for Principles of Finance. I often feel like I am put in the position of educating my proctor. According to p. 13 of the DSST candidtate bulletin, here is what is officially allowed. Find us on the Web at The DSST Program AUXILIARY TESTING MATERIALS Below is a list of auxiliary testing materials that are permitted, or not permitted with DSST examinations. Please Note: Where calculators are allowed; only nonprogrammable, four-function, handheld calculators* may be used, NO EXCEPTIONS. I think this group had a discussion of what a four function calculator consisted of and that it does not exist. My advice to you is find a more laid-back testing center. My testing center guy really didn't care as long as it was not "programmable".
