    Default Tecep & Fees

Can Someone Tell Me How The Tecep Fee Work, I Tried Calling Them Today But I Received A Message That They Were Closed. I Plan On Taking Some General Education Courses, Or Tests In This Case And Transferring Them To My Local College. Is It Just A 150 Per Credit Hour Fee So A Test Woth 3 Cr Would Be 450.00 To Take Or Is There A Flat Fee Per Test? I'm Trying To Decided Which Will Be Cheaper In Terms Of Testing Fees And Tranferring Them To My Local College Tecep Or Ece Tests.

    Hi Brian,

I believe it is $150 per credit which would mean $450 to take a TECEP exam for a 3-credit course. As far as I know, there is no "flat fee" depending on the exam. ECE tests would definitely be cheaper than the TECEP's. However, for your General Education requirements, the CLEP and DANTES exams would be your best bet, especially in terms of price and difficulty.

    Hope that helps.

WELL I PLAN ON TAKING THE CLEP FOR GENERAL ED. BUT MY SCHOOL ONLY ALLOWS FOR A MAX OF 30 CLEP CREDIT HOURS, AND MY GENERAL ED IS 51 CREDIT HOURS. MY ADVISOR SAID THEY CAN TAKE ECE CREDIT, SO I'M ASSUMMING THEY'D DO THE SAME FOR TECEP, BUT ECE DOESN'T HAVE THE SELECTION THAT TECEP DOES ALTHOUGH ECE IS MUCH CHEAPER, KIND OF A CATCH 22 I GUESS.
