Default Can I talk to admissions counselors before the evaluation about where my credits go?

Trying to figure out what areas my credits would translate to for Excelsior and TESC. This is one of the transcripts I know about, 44 credits. Funny thing is I don't remember taking French (LOL)

SLS 1101 College Success Skills (3)
MAC 1104 College Algebra (3)
HUM 2250 Cont Humanities: the 20th Century (3)
MUN 2340 Concert Choir (1)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
ENC 1101 Communications 1 (3)
MVV 1311 Applied Voice (2)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
MUN 2340 Concert Choir (1)
HLP 1081 Health Analysis & I (2)
AST 1002 Intro to Astronomy (3)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
MAC 1114 College Trigonometry (3)
EUH 1001 Western Civilization (3)
MUN 2340 Concert Choir (1)
SPC 2022 Fund Speech Communications (3)
MVV 1311 Applied Voice (2)
FRE 1120 French 1 (4)
HUM 2230 Humanities 2 (3)

Will the couselors look at my transcripts with me before an unofficial evaluation?

The short answer is yes.

When you pay your application fee at either school you will receive a quick unofficial evaluation of your transcripts that have been sent in.

I found that Excelsior is more flexible if you are sending in multiple transcripts while TESC gave me alot of grief and refused at one point to evaluate my other transcripts until I had actually enrolled. I had to contact a supervisor and then I got told off by the counselor for going over her head. Never did get that other evaluation either. Went with Excelsior in case you hadn't guessed it.

Hope this helps. It's worth the application fee to get the evaluation before you enroll.

How "quick" was the time between your trancripts coming in and reeiving your evaluation?

Everything is in to both colleges except Microsoft Trancripts (STILL waiting). Anyone have experience on how long it took to receive transcripts from Microsoft? It will be 3 weeks on Monday for me.

4-6 weeks is not uncommon. Some have waited 8 or longer. Depends on the number of transcripts you are transferring in and how busy they are in the office. With Christmas coming you shoudl add another 2 weeks for that as well.\

Hope this helps.

EC really needs a better way of taking MS transcripts. They accept Comptia's using your online member code. I don't understand why they don't do the same for Microsoft.

I could tell you a story of a certain individual who tried four times to get his Microsoft Transcripts sent to Excelsior. After two months of waiting, he finally went online, printed off a Microsoft Transcript himself (They include the watermark on the printout), sealed it in an envelope and sent it himself to Excelsior. I also *Cough* I mean... This individual also included a note along with the transcript explaining that he is the one who printed the transcript out and it's the exact same one that EC would receive from Microsoft.

A week later, his Microsoft exams were on his status report.

Will the couselors look at my transcripts with me before an unofficial evaluation?

Here's my two cents based on my experience--assuming these credits are from a regionally accredited college:

SLS 1101 College Success Skills (3) - Nothing or Applied Professional (Excelsior's equivalent of "Elective")
MAC 1104 College Algebra (3) - Looks solid.

HUM 2250 Cont Humanities: the 20th Century (3)
MUN 2340 Concert Choir (1)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
MVV 1311 Applied Voice (2)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
MUN 2340 Concert Choir (1)
MUN 1340 Chamber Choir Group (1)
MUN 2340 Concert Choir (1)
MVV 1311 Applied Voice (2)

All of the above look like Humanities credits to me (that's where all my community college music credits for things like Guitar I and II and Bass Guitar went). If not, hopefully still good for some Applied Professional.

HLP 1081 Health Analysis & I (2)
AST 1002 Intro to Astronomy (3)
MAC 1114 College Trigonometry (3)
EUH 1001 Western Civilization (3)
SPC 2022 Fund Speech Communications (3)
FRE 1120 French 1 (4)
HUM 2230 Humanities 2 (3)

These all look very straightforward. Good going getting those math courses taken care of!

This is an excellent reference, thank you. I see you didn't have to take Business Strategy.
