Statistics before Thomas Ed. Operations Management?
I'm looking over the requirements for the Thomas Edison OPM-301-TE Operations Management exam, and noticed that there is also a OPM-301 course. Out of curiosity, I looked at the course, and see that for the course, having taken or being able to understand basic statistics is "advisable." Should I pass the DANTES/DSST "Principles of Statistics" exam before I go for Thomas Edison's Operations Management exam? Thanks.

When I got done with the Ops Mgmt exam, I was mentally wiped out and I remember thinking afterwards that this exam was even harder than Statistics (at least for me anyway). So..to answer, your question, it can't hurt to take Statistics before the Ops Mgmt exam (although I wouldn't advise taking them back to back). Having said that, I would HIGHLY recommend as an alternative that you look into the CSU Operations Management course that several IC members have taken. What from what I have read and learned about it, it definitely sounds MUCH more doable. Just my two cents' anyway. JoAnne

4dkids, The Excelsior College course is going to cost you an arm and a leg. Even with their newly increased prices, CSU's Ops Managament course is only $417 plus book. I took the CSU course and can HIGHLY recommend it to you. I can't see any reason for you to pay twice as much for the EC course. Just my opinion, Snazzlefrag
