How are Cleps/ Dantes Graded?

Okay, I thought I knew how these tests were graded but then I heard about curves and what not, so I am extremely confused on how these things are graded, I would imagine in a 100 question test to get full credit I would need to get around 75 questions right, but with the way these tests are graded would that be correct or am i way off?

I tried to ask the proctor but he was an older retired vet who had no clue. Does anyone have any infor?

The DSST is graded on a curve with the total points being somewhere between 20 and 80 points. They call this curve "scaling". Some exams are more diffcult than others, and the advantage of scaling is that this reflects this fact. The passing score on a DSST is supposed to be the average score that a 'C' student would score on the exam after taking the actual class.

The actual number of questions you have to get correct are dependent upon each individual exam. The harder the exam, the less questions you would probably have to score.

Unfortunately, there isn't a clear cut answer to your question. My advice is to study until you are comfortable with the material. Personally, I always knew when I was ready for an exam. I wouldn't go take it before I felt 100% sure.

Thanks for the input, maybe this is why I scored so low on Here's to your Health which I failed by a point. My next test is Intro to World Religion which I have been studying for a week now and test next week.
