Help! Natural Science Recommendations

I have to take a natural science course to qualify for a 3-credit requirement at TESC.

A lady at Thomas Edison recommended I take the Environment DSST test as the Intro to Computing no longer qualifies as a Natural Science. I am not really into the sciences, and I'm looking for the easiest test available from Dantes or CLEP. I took the Chemistry CLEP years ago, and just barely missed passing by 3 points! Your advice would be very much appreciated!

DSST
Environment and Humanity
Astronomy
Physical Science
Physical Geology

CLEP
is the Biology or Natural Science even worth considering given that I only need 3 credits?

If you missed the CLEP Chemistry by only 3 points (even years ago), I'd recommend that you start there. You had known enough to score an almost passing. You may find it easier to refresh your knowledge rather than learn something entirely new. With some refreshers and a little bit of new knowledge, you would probably be able to pass the Chemistry test.

Given this I'd have to say:

1) Buy the Petersons Chemistry CLEP practice test for $20 at:
Prep for the CLEP - Peterson's

2) Take the first, of three, practice tests. These tests are a little harder than the actual CLEP. Your goal is a 50% or higher. The first test will gauge where you stand. With this knowledge of your weak areas:

3) Get a study aid. Check out the REA CLEP Chemistry. REA does have a reputation for quality:

4) Practice tests and review of the subject material. After working through the review, do one of the practice tests in the book. See where you stand.

5) Shore up your weak areas and take your remaining 2 Petersons tests, and also complete the 3 practice tests in the REA guide. The goal is 50% or higher on all of these tests.

With only missing the Chemistry CLEP by 3 points, I'd focus on it if I where in your position. You know enough to almost get you there.

Call back and get a second opinion- I think they reversed what happened. The DSST didn't change, the CLEP did. The CLEP used to be classified as business, but is now math/sciences. The DSST was and still is business. But, now there are 2 computer exams that duplicate each other, so you can only take one.

TESC OLD: CLEP ISCA was CIS101 (business)
TESC NEW: CLEP ISCA is now COS101 (math/sciences) which DUPLICATES credit of DSST Intro to Computing COS101.

DSST Management Information Systems is still listed as business (CIS301) not math/sciences.
DSST Intro to computing COS101- I have no info-but I can confirm that my COS101 (earned through CLEP) is in fact a science credit.

Yes, they are both worthy of consideration and are both 6 credit exams - Good Luck!

Thank you for all of your advice.

I did take the chemistry test about nine years ago when I was just out of high school. I really don't think I would remember enough to go in and study it all over again!

I already took the CLEP Information Systems test to satisfy the BS Business requirement, and I had been planning to take the DSST Intro to Computing as that was qualifying for a natural science last year. Unfortunately, they changed it this year.

Which test of those I had listed would be the least time-consuming (and easiest!! ) to study for?
