Default Need some quick advice about Sociology

Hey, I'm new here and was wanting to ask a quick question. Can one realisticly expect to pass the Sociolgy CLEP test when they have exclusively used Instantcert? I have also read the Cliffsnotes quick review and was just wondering. (Test in 2 days)

I used instantcert with help from Wikipedia and Peterson's practice tests. They have good info on Peterson's when you review your answers. I scored 70 and had very little prior knowledge of Sociology.

Hi James,

Welcome to the IC forum! In case you haven't seen it yet, we have a section in IC for Specific Exam Feedback, and you will find all kinds of good information there for the CLEP Sociology exam. Here is a direct link to take you there: http://www.instantcertonline.com/for...ight=sociology.

Good luck with the exam!

JoAnne

It all comes down to the individual and their ability to absorb information and apply it to the test. I know that if you follow the link Kiwilover posted above (Brady Bunch moment there), you'll see that many have not only passed it, but scored well using just IC, myself included. Hope this helps and good luck. Let us know how you did by providing feedback, we'll add it to the rest to help future test takers. Lee

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the help. I'm feeling really confident about what I can do now. I know that I have a good grasp on who is who and all of the core stuff so I think I'll do well. I guess if I pass then 2 weeks worth of study beats an actual AP course. (I'm a senior in highschool)

Yet again, thanks for the posts and the encouragement.

Default Whoop Whoop!

Hey Everyone,
I took my test yesterday. I needed a 50 and I got a 66 so I am very excited. Which test should I take next? I am looking to get as many credit hours out of the way as possible. Anyone up to the task of making a short list?

Intro to Psychology would be a good follow-up to Sociology. There is some overlap in the study material that will give you a head start.

Then after that, try Human Growth and Development then Educational Psychology. They ALL overlap each other.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I just took this test on the 23rd. I feel I did ok, but I will not know for 2 or 3 weeks. I recognized about 80% of the information from IC. But I also read a Intro. To Sociology book I obtained from the library. The other 20% on the test was easly covered by the textbook.

Absolutely...I just did it. I went through using Instacert and Peterson as a prep to see how I did at testing...I made a 57. I also did the same with Psychology and got a 63.
