Default Help with Exceslior degree plans?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to offer my guidance to anyone attempting to complete an Excelsior degree plan. I have worked with Excelsior degree plans for 4 years now and would be happy to assist anyone with questions. Please feel free to e-mail me directly with any Excelsior degree plan questions.

Thanks!

Shari,

I don't doubt that you mean well, but why would you need people to email you directly instead of posting their questions to the board for the mutual benefit of all?

You may have some very valuable guidance and advice for our members but, since you have never posted here before, we have no clue who you are yet. We have no way of knowing whether or not your advice would be accurate. If you are only willing to answer questions in private, how can the members of this board come to trust you? I believe there is wisdom in the counsel of many. If you give your guidance out in the open, your words can either be validated or challenged by other members. I'm sure you'll agree that this is a healthy process.

Until some level of trust has been developed between you and our members, and rather than take individual members into a private email correspondence right away, I would very much prefer to see you become an active member of this board first. Let us all benefit from, and share in, your knowledge and expertise. Let us SEE FOR OURSELVES that you are indeed knowledgable and experienced.

There is no need for you to hide your light under a bushel. Please, keep it out in the open where it can have the most impact and benefit the most people.

Once you have shown that you are able to provide excellent advice and guidance, you will find that there will no longer be any need to 'advertise' your services....members will actively SEEK your input because they will know (from experience) that they can TRUST you.

We look forward to being able to learn from your experiences (just as we are ALL learning from each other here).

Thanks,
Snazzlefrag

Just curious Shari, but do you have any direct connections to EC?

shari,
I am planning on enrolling in Excelsior this week so that I can get in under the Business Policy course change of 9/1/2007. My question is this. If I decide to go with the enrollment via mail so that I can take advantage of the Undergraduate Pay YOUR Way Payment Plan and pay my enrollment over 3 months, how do I ensure my enrollment is processed before 9/1/2007.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Geezer

If you are going to enroll in the Excelsior Business Degree to avoid the new Business Policy course requirement, you need to get moving big time. Excelsior could take a few weeks to get your enrollment processed. You have no time to spare!

I recently switch from the associate's to the bachelor's and it took Excelsior over two weeks to do that and I was already a student, which made the process slightly easier.

How about overnight delivery and confirmation notice??

At least you will know (and have certified proof) that your enrollment made it BEFORE the deadline...

When I enrolled, I was able to do the 3 payment method online, so that should not be a problem. I would recommend that you get moving quickly though. If you have to request a transcript and wait for them to approve your credits, you could be really pushing the time line.

Good Luck!

All of you people are the best!!! never2late thanks for taking the time to post that. I just went in and registered online with the 4 payment plan as you said. Whet I sent in my original application, I mentioned that I was already enrolled in a class from LSU (operations management) and IU (business policy). They wrote back with the preliminary assessment about a week ago and everything jived with what I thought, other than having to take an extra humanities course. No biggie!

So when the enrollment application asked if I had new transcripts to send, (which would slow the proecess) I left it blank. The only thing I have yet to send them are the grades from 4 DANTES tests i've taken in the last three weeks. So as of right now, I'm a proud member of the Excelsior club. 100 credits down, 24 to go!

Instacert and this board has been my lifeblood. Thanks for all of your help!
