Default TECEP Industrial Psychology, Upper-Level Business Credit

I talked with the business department at Excelsior. I had asked them if the TECEP exam in Industrial Psychology would count as upper level credit for the business degree. As you all know, you must have 4 upper level business courses, not counting your core courses, to earn a business degree. I was told that this exam will count as one of the four courses. However, this exam is not listed as one of the acceptable ways to earn the upper level credit by exam. Reviewing the exam material, there is know doubt in my mind this should be considered business or arts/sciences credit depending on your program.

I know this course counts towards the Management of Human Resources. I would just hate to take this exam then have Excelsior inform me it does not count as upper level business credit.

When I get a definite answer, I will let everyone know. This would add another exam everyone could consider if pursuing your business degree.

Here is the email I received from Excelsior:

    Dear Larry,

For the General Business degree, you need 12 credits in advanced level business electives. The Industrial Psychology exam would apply towards this requirement. For the Management of Human Resources degree, you need 12 credits in advanced level business electives with 9 of the credits in the concentration area. The Industrial Psychology exam would apply towards that requirement. I hope this helps.

This should give everyone another option for upper-level credit. The cost is high, but the exam seems doable. It is 100 multiple choice test and you need to get 60 correct to pass.

Did you take this Exam? What did you use to study for it? I'm looking at the HR degree also. Thanks for any help you can give.
