Actually the english comp w/essay is much easier because you only have about 45 questions I think, along with an essay portion. The questions are so chessy and even the essay topic wasn't hard. I think mine was "discuss an invention today that has both good and bad associated with it" or something to that effect. Lo and behold, I chose to discuss computers. I never even studied for this exam, just how to format an essay. You will be fine on this one. Good Luck!!

I agree with Kiwi. I've taken both after trouble with my first time around on w/ essay (first CLEP, too). Snazz's post is great! Check it out! Head up, shoulders back, chest out! Don't be discouraged. Better success next time ...

Sorry to hear you didn't pass this exam!! Not fun at all. I would have to say that I'm willing to bet the Comp. w/ Essay is easier...mainly because, well...it was fairly easy for me. I didn't have much of a problem at all, plus...I've heard from others that have said the same thing...mainly because there are less questions. Alot of the questions on the Comp. w/ essay exam are straightforward and fairly simple. It also depends on the essay question. Mine was not very difficult....though I don't even remember what it was.
