How many questions am I supposed to get right for a passing score?
Bain4weeks says that "look for 40% to 45% raw score for a standardized score of 50 (out of 80) in the subject and general CLEP exams". Is it so for College Math? Last edited by traffic : 05-10-2007 at 02:18 PM. |

I say that if I get upper 50's (percent) and above, I'm ready to go take it. I usually score a few points higher than the practice test I take. But actually for the Math CLEP, I actually scored higher on practice tests than in the real test. I would say that you want to get at least 50% before you go in. as a general rule of thumb.

Just passed the sucker with 70 pts.!
Advice to anyone taking it: tests in "Peterson's CLEP" books aren't accurate at predicting your success on the real thing. Problems are more complex than warranted and introduce a bunch of concepts that aren't even on the test. Barron's book was spot on. Nevertheless, I got 4 Peterson's and a Barron's at the library and that was enough to prepare. If you can get 50% right on Peterson's (like me), you'll pass for sure. |
