I've been studying from the Instant Cert exams for a while now, and I've recently switched to the Peterson's. Anyone else find the difficulty of the Peterson's huge compared to the ICs? I feel like I am drowning on these tests!!

On most of the practice tests I've taken, Petersons dose not come close to reflecting the level of difficulty of the actual CLEP tests. Petersons are much harder. I took three of the Petersons practice exams on business law and finished with scores of 48, 39 and 52. I took the actual CLEP Intro to Bus Law test today and finished with a score of 67. Thanks again Instantcert for another 3 credits.

Yes, IC isn't really a test, per say. It allows you to go through, memorize the material or become familiar with it. And they believe that fill in the blanks is a better teaching tool than multiple choice. The Petersons tests are practice tests in the same format as the real CLEP tests. But, yes, I will agree that they are often much harder than the real test (like College Math, though the Am. Lit. was pretty much the same). If I do the 3 Petersons, and have a passing grade between 50-60, I will usually score at least 5 points higher on the real test. And congrats to Culrich for passing!!!

Taking the English Comp with Essay, averaging about 55% on all three tests. Some of the questions are just insane.
By the way, are the Peterson's tests still "free"? I think I might have jumped the gun actually paying for them.

Combining IC with Petersons definitely sounds like the right way to go. I was really sweating when I started taking the Petersons. Congrats on your achievements!

You should be fine with 55%. That's passing of course. Have you practiced the essay? That was the main problem for me. So I practiced writing and timing myself for as many sample topics as I could find. Good luck!

Haven't practiced the essay, but that's the least of my concerns. Always been a good writer at least by my standards. Taking the test today at 5:15. As soon as I get the results back (no idea when cause of the essay) I will post here.
