Instantcert is probably enough. I used additional sources and way overstudied and got a 78! If you use idiots guide with instantcert you will do fine. Also use the DSST fact sheet. I know I probably picked up 2-3 questions with it.

Thumbs up Dantes Ethics in America

I am grateful to InstantCert because I passed the Dantes Ethics test today! This was the test that decided if I graduate this year or next. So, May 10th I will be the first from my immediate family to graduate from college.

I have seen posted several wanting information about this test. Use InstantCert to study! The electronic format for most of the questions is a scenario. You have to make the decision with a yes or no answer if it applies to a moral decision. Sometimes it asks in a certain philosopher's theory, like Kant, Aristotle, etc. The scenario will be used over and over with different questions. So, read it through carefully once and then all you have to do is read the question and answer.

Study what each of the Philosopher's main beliefs are. InstantCert definitely in their review gives you enough to pass. The Philosopher's I can remember from the test are: Kant, Epicurus, Socrates, Aristotle, Rawls, Jefferson, Plato, Mills, Bentham (several questions), Eptictetus, Hobbes, Locke, and Aquinas. There were quite a few questions about consequential ethics.

There are also 2 scenarios at the end that are in essay format. There are 4 parts that you have to answer in your own words like an essay. Use theories that apply that you believe and then know a theory that in opposite of what you believe. You need to be able to back it up with reason. Lastly, you have to tell if the opposing view has changed your mind in any way or if you still believe your beginning statement.

There were also 2 passages of scripture that you had to make decision on what those passages were saying about ethical situations. (Sad, but I can't even remember which ones....something in Luke)

There were 112 questions and 2 hours to take it. A 46 is required to pass.

    Default Grad School

    Rusty,

Thanks for the congrats! I will be graduating from Midway College in Midway, Kentucky with a BA in Healthcare Administration. I am considering grad school but I am looking at taking a semester off.

I work in the radiation oncology field as a Regional Financial Manager. I travel 4 days out of every week. The schedule is tough. I also have to maintain CEU's for Radiation Oncology medical coding. I would also like to obtain my certification in medical coding not just radiation.

At least, I have accomplished one goal.....two more to go!

    Thanks again!

    Default Ethics

I took the Ethics exam on March 17th...I was told it was a new exam. I still have not recieved a grade yet. I did get in contact with Dantes and they said it would be graded by the end of the month. I felt it was very hard and this website did not help...maybe a handful of questions were somewhat simular to what this website had to offer. I feel that I probably failed...I used other sources to study for this exam and felt I still fell short. I have had an ethics class and a philosophy class as well and didn't seem to help. Hopefully they will grade on a curve...that is why they are taking soooo long to grade it..I'm hoping...

    Good Luck...stay positive!
