I agree. The Peterson's site is great but some exams are much harder than the actual thing!

Default Which test prep do I choose?

Thank you guys for this incredibly helpful information.

I am preparing to CLEP out of Biology so I can start my prerequites for the Nursing program. I already have a Bachelor's Degree but fairly useless to me as it was a Liberal Arts Degree. I am much more focused now but also on a time crunch so it is necessary for me to CLEP out of Bio.

I looked into this link, as I have read numerous times on this blog that Peterson's is very helpful. However, I am not sure which test prep to choose that will be the closest to the CLEP test.

Please help... Thank goodness for this site!

    Sammy,

Try this link (save it to your favourite places so you can revisit it in future):

Peterson's Education Portal - Colleges, Graduate Programs, Financial Aid

    - Click on one of the exams listed.
    - Fill in your registration info and choose a username and password.
    - You shouldn't have to enter a code at all.

I used this exact same link to register.

It was totally free. I didn't need to be military or enter a military code (I am SO not military). I have been a member since October, 2005 and my registration has yet to expire. I have used it for multiple mock exams in several different subjects. Even though the text says you have 90 days to complete your mock exams, the time on my account (after I sign in) actually remains at 202 days and doesn't ever change.

    Good luck,
    Snazzlefrag

I understand from the collective G2 that Peterson's is harder than the actual CLEP.

I am currently studying for Hum100 and Soc100 --- and after taking the Peterson's Intro to Soc pre-test (scored a 65%), I was shocked that it covers much more ground than IC study material did.

Also, Peterson's coverage seemed more in line with the percentage breakdown provided on the Collegeboard site for the Intro to Soc exam (copied below).

Thoughts and Comments --- I am planning on testing Soc before next Strayer semester starts (1/7/08)

    *************
    20% Institutions
    Economic
    Educational
    Family
    Medical

    Collective behavior and social movements
    Culture

    Groups and organizations

30% Social stratification (process and structure)
