I am planning to take CLEP French I and II
From what I have read it seems that only French II is worth 12 credits and that French I is worth maximum of 6. Does anyone know if this is correct? I studied French for ten years but have not picked up a textbook in a decade. How much of the exam is conjugation and specifics of grammar? Or is it more simply supplying the correct word to fill in a blank or complete a sentence? Is it more about for example, "j'ai" vs "je suis" type of questions? Any help is appreciated. |

I haven't taken French. I CLEP-ed out of Spanish 1 and 2. but yes, you have to get so many points, I believe it's 63 for French, in order to get the 12 credits. A score below that would give you the 6 credits for one year of French. In spanish, it was alot of conversations that you listened to and answered questions about, some vocab words you had to know the meaning of, some rephrasing or making a sentence correct in spanish. Hope that helps a little! and good luck!
