    Default CLEP/DANTES Exams Administrative fee

    Hi Everyone

I just find out today that if one take a Dantes or Clep Exam at the center which they are not students of. They have to pay Administrative fee. At one College I called it was $100 administartive fee for every exam. Does this sound right?

What has been the exprience of others that have taken these exams before?

    Please advice

The school where I take tests that are not offered by my education office costs $15. That fee sounds high to me, but I am not sure though. I'm sure others will have some input. Good luck

That totally blows. I would tell them that you will never take exams there and recommend to all you know not to take exams there. That said, here's College Board's site regarding fees:

Somewhere between $10 and $25 is the norm. I wouldn't pay more than $30 if I were you. In Boston, there has to be a pretty good choice for testing centers.

I pay $15 for each CLEP and $20 for each DSST (non-computer version) at my local college. Shop around, I'm sure you can find a cheaper location.

That's way too much money! I am sure you can find a different test center. The three colleges where I've taken my cleps were either $15 or $20. Those schools were in the Chicago area but I am sure the prices here are the norm. I can't believe that test center where you are located wants to charge so much! If they can't get your tuition money they will still find a way to bleed your wallet dry. I'm thanking my lucky stars right now after reading your post to find great places here in Chicago where I can take my cleps!

The cheapest Administrative fees for centers close to my home that offers Dantes Exams is $45.00

Maybe it's because everything in Boston is so high.

I found a center that offer Clep Exams for a Few of $20. I guess, I will takes more clep exams right now until I find a cheaper center for Dantes Exams

    Thanks everyone for your input

My CLEP center will allow me to test all day long for 15.00. The DSST center is 25.00 per exam.

    Default Clep fees

I took my dantes and cleps at CCRI in Warwick Rhode Island. I think the fee was 20 or 25 dollars.(Depending on which one). The testing center is pretty flexible and will work with you. Check them out. It's not that far from Boston.
