Pass Principles of Finance tonight with a 67...all that da** math was was nasty (for me) but I am done with this one! On to Money and Banking!

I was happy, but then heard from the new mgr in charge of academics that my independent U/L Bus Policy study class got cancelled for next semester....I am sooo pissed about this, totally messes up my schedule! They said I had to finish all my other exams first....schmucks! I'm going for a margarita and to regroup!

Good job, that is a really great score. Finance was probably the second toughest test, after M&B! Good luck!

Thanks all for the positive feedback. You are right in that the math is not difficult as long as you remember the forumulas (and it really is pretty much mostly multiply/add/divide when you get down to it) - but I will never say I like it on tests because rearranging stuff quickly it is not always intuitive to me (except when my kids are w/in earshot - then I say I love math but who am I kidding!!) Acutally I do like math some of the time - just not on tests! Oh well, we all have our weaknesses and still keep on doing these exams in spite of that! That's the lesson I want them to learn.

I just received my score for the GRE Subject exam in Psychology, which I took on April 12. I needed a 685 to qualify for 30 credits from Excelsior (including 12 upper-level) and I scored a 750!

Now I need to decide whether I will pay another enrollment and graduation fee, and take one more one-credit course (LA491: Research/Writing - Social Sciences) to earn a second Bachelor of Science degree (my BS in General Business will be conferred on June 20). The LA491 course starts July 7. Or I could take the three-credit MLS500: Graduate Research and Writing. I don't think I'll do that, though, as if I do decide to pursue a Master's, I doubt it will be at Excelsior. Nothing against them, but their big advantage for undergrad was the ability to test out of almost everything. I don't believe the same advantage exists at the graduate level, so I will probably seek out more of a "name" school if I go that route.

Gary, your score is fabulous! Congratulations!

I'm going to be taking the Psychology GRE in October. Despite my normal habit of studying intensely for a short time for exams, I'm planning to study for 2-3 months for this one, taking my time and reading some textbooks to get me well grounded. Plus, I like the subject. Do let us know if you have any pointers for this exam.

As someone who will continue on to a B&M graduate school after getting my EC degree, I was mulling over the 3-unit graduate research & writing course just wondering if it might prepare me for graduate writing...but that all depends on the quality of the EC instructor, I imagine.

Again, congratulations on the great score, Mr. 97th percentile! You rock!

Seriously, the Princeton Review Cracking the GRE: Psychology is concise and perfectly focused for this exam. I felt weak on "Who's Who" type questions, so you may want to concentrate on biographies of the major and not-so-major players. I won't tell you to use the Princeton Review book as your only source, but you should definitely include it among your resources, and consider using it as an outline for your preparation.

Thanks Gary. I have the Princeton & Kaplan Psychology GRE books, so it sounds like with a little extra research, I'm set. I REEEEEAAAALLLLLYYY wish the GRE exam was sooner...like, oh, July!

Congrats Gary, that is a tremendous score!! I haven't had time to research the Psych GRE yet, but was thinking about checking into as I would also like to get a BS in Psych in addition to the current BS in Business Mgmt I am working on....so perhaps I'll ping you in a few months if I decide to go that route
