Default When to start taking tests.....

Guess i'm confused. .......i'm new here, and by reading some of the threads, it seems like you can begin "testing out" before applying/enrolling ? How do you know which tests to take? forgive me if this has been beaten to death. I've applied to EC, and am waiting for some previous colleges to send them my transcripts to see what I need to accomplish. isn't this how it works?

    confused furloughed pilot......

First look for the school and the degree you are interested in, then you start to see which Clep/DSST fulfill the requirement below you can find the one for TESC usually they are the same for the big 3 with some exceptions for english and also FEMA for the free electives and a few other exceptions depending on the degree, I suggest to enroll when you have about (90 credits) covering your general education req and also free electives and also some of the area of study this way you suffer less for evaluation of your credits and also you are not stressed by the time and you can save some money. Clep/DSST are valid for 20 yrs so dont rush and enroll right away

    good luck !

Thanks. I chose EC and thier Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Degree. I've been to EC's sight a few times, and trying to find out what I need to take. Shouldn't I wait until they come back with an answer with my unofficial results before I start testing? Trying to avoid taking tests I might already have credit in.......Thanks for holding my hand everyone!
