TESC tuition increasing

I got my registration bulletin in the mail today and the tuition is increasing July 2008.

Non residents $165 per credit hour to $175
Non enrolled students $315 per credit hour to $335

Exams:
Enrolled students $75 per credit hour to $80
Non enrolled students $150 per credit hour to $160

My question is as a resident of NJ who might be looking to enroll somewhere for my BS in Science(most of the courses already taken) the rest of my credits will be at least 95% Prior Pearning Assesment(PLA) or testing(TECEP, ECE, DSST or CLEP).

Am I still better off financially (I have to pay it all myself) going with TESC or should I look into EC or Charter Oaks? I need somewhere that can give me some kind of General Science degree I have 18 Chemistry credits, plan to PLA at least 6 more Chemistry and then test out of 6-12 more science.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Just adding my two cents!!!

I would pick TESC because you are a resident of NJ so I believe what you will pay in tuition costs should be comparable to what you would at EC or COSC.

Other than that I would choose TESC because from what I've heard from others on this forum, TESC is alot more flexible than the other two aforementioned schools when it comes to upper level credits. I believe TESC uses anything 200 and up as upper level. At EC you would have to probably have to take several TECEPS/ECE exams to accomplish this goal. They are both a pretty penny when you add them all up.

I believe IMHO that the only con TESC has is that they do not accept payment plans. If it wasn't for that...I'd recruit for them the way SHOTO does for EC!!!

There is one more thing you could do if you are still on the fence about which college to choose. You could send an application in to the Big Three schools and wait for your "unofficial evaluation," which could take up to 8 weeks from what I've heard. I believe all three schools charge the exact same application fee, $75.00. I don't know how pressed you are for time but this could be a viable option. Then you wouldn't have to speculate as to how many credits you need to finish...you'd know.

Yeah, that is a bummer about TESC not accepting payment plans. It really screwed me when I tried to use military TA, because my Education Services chick wanted proof of enrollment to give me my money, but I couldn't enroll without the money haha.

If not for that, I'd be a TESC cheerleader too

Thank you for the info that will help me decide. I may not pay it in one lump sum, but I am good at saying "Charge it"

I do believe TESC gave me 400 level credit for Intro to World Religions and 300 Level credit for History of Vietnam war. So I think that is more liberal then the other Big 3's
