    Default Help with Business Requirements

Okay...I am still waiting on my evaluation from EC for my prior credits and I have not officially enrolled yet, so I do not have an advisor. I am knocking out the stuff that I absolutely KNOW that I need to take: macro, micro, stats, supervision, and marketing so far..

I am trying to find out the requirements for the general business degree for the business requirements part that I have left and the tests that correspond, this is really frustrating me...can someone assist???

Here's a link to my plan, which I last updated in Nov 2007. It'll give you an idea of which tests, etc. I used in each category. What you really need is the Student Guide to Credit by Examination (or something like that) which is available at the EC website. All you have to do is register at the web site which is completely independent of enrollment. Hope that helps.

    Default Strickly Business

This is just the purely business component of the requirements not the general education ones

    Business Core 45
Ethics - DSST Ethics in America or ECE Ethics: Theory and Practice
Organizational Behavior- DSST Org Behavior or ECE
    Financial Accounting- CLEP Financial Accounting
Managerial Accounting - I don't think there is test anymore. You have to take a course somewhere.
Business Law -CLEP Intro Business Law
Computers- CLEP Info Sys and Comp App or DSST Intro Computing
Principles of Management- CLEP Principles of Management
Principles of Marketing- CLEP Principles of Marketing
Financial Management- DSST Pinciples of Finance
Production/Operations Mngt- EC cource or TESC test or CSU-Pueblo independent study course
Business Policy- EC cource BUS 495 required

You also have to have 12cr of Advanced (UL) Business courses
You can takes some DSSTs for that such as:
    Management of Information Systems
    Business Law II
    Human Resource Managment
Money and Banking (I think counts you might want to double check)
    or ECE:
    Human Resource Management
    Labor Relations

    Default Other Business Requirements

So that is the 45 credit hours of business requirements, the others break down like this:

60 Arts and Science hours to include:

    3 Written English Requirement (WER)
    9 Humanities
(may include Ethics as it can count in either your Business or A&S credits)
    15 Social Sci/His
(Macro and Micro + 9 more)
    6 Natural Sci/Math
(Stats + another math at precal or higher)
27 additional in any A&S area

15 Additional Credit Component to include

    1 Information Literacy
14+ any other credits from business or A&S classes at collegiate level except physical ed classes.

I hope that helps. I would suggest that you make a spread sheet with all the reqiurements and what you plan on taking to fulfill each section. If I get a chance I might upload mine without all the specifics. It helps a lot.

    Default how was statistics

I have the business policy tecep scheduled for April 10th and then just have statistics. Since I have been reading that some of the dsst's changed this year how was the statistics exam. I will start preparing for that as soon as I take my tecep (I enrolled just before the policy change so I can still take it).
