Hell yeah, you should fight! Tooth & nail if required... however, this seems pretty obvious that it's just a mistake in academic evaluation of the class. Do a non-emotional, fully detailed write up and include whatever documentation you can find about ofther schools calling it an upper level class - then send it to Dr. Garry Keel (send to enrolled@tesc.edu and put 'attn dr. keel' in the subject line). Dr. Keel is the head of advising dept. and he's *very* responsive to students who seek his help. If he cannot help, guaranteed, he will get this onto the desk of someone who can.
